Core functions included but were not limited to leading on viral haemorrhagic fever guidance for Africa; leading on the WHO's National Public Health Agency (NPHA) initiative for the continent; serving as a core team member on INB negotiations related to the Pandemic Accord; and serving as acting Incident Manager for Africa's dengue public health emergency.
